KL-SG Trip: Conquering the Twin Towers

Hey lovelies! Here's the first post of my Malaysia-Singapore trip <3

I’ve loved travelling ever since I can remember.  I’ll definitely go backpacking without any itineraries or plans at all, just going with the flow someday. For the meantime though, let’s just stick with the conventional way of travelling. Once a year, my family goes on a major vacation. This year is a bit special because this will be our first out-of-the-country trip  <3 Originally our plan was Hong Kong-Macau but some unexpected things came up so we opted for a Malaysia-Singapore trip instead.

We arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport at around 5:00PM then we took an hour and half bus ride to our hotel which is located in Bukit Bintang, the shopping district of Kuala Lumpur. Mom put me in charge of picking our hotel, go figure why it’s in that area ^.^ We checked in and found out that our room has a divine view of the Twin Towers. We got lucky! Also, they weren’t kidding when they said shopping district, malls everywhere! Everywhere you look, below, across the street, right, left wherever.

Since we arrived pretty late we decided to just take a quick stroll and eat dinner at the mall across the street which was Pavilion Mall and then we turned in for the night.

The next day we did the first thing that was on our itinerary, the Petronas Twin Towers. We were lucky that the towers are at a walking distance from our hotel. It’s a long walk though, no worries still as there is a covered pathway from the Pavilion Mall to the Twin Towers.  They are the tallest twin building in the world which has lead it to become the icons of modern Malaysia. The view of these towers upclose is indeed majestic. It is 88-storeys high. By day, they seem to be just an ordinary twin buildings but at night they become slender electrical wands. Gorgeous really!

You can find the Aquaria below the towers which is pretty similar to Manila Ocean Park . I was super scared of the huge shark inside the long tunnel. You can see all sorts of fish inside from piranhas to sea cockroaches. There’s also a petting area where you can pet a bamboo shark (no kidding!), Sea cucumber, crabs, and star fish.  Then there’s also the KLCC park that looks like a normal fountain but then transforms into a grand light show at night.

We wanted to see how the towers and fountain looks like at night so we decided to leave at around lunch time then come back at night. For the meantime we decided to go to the famous Petaling Street Market. This is where you can buy souvenirs like shirts, figurines, keychains and a whole lot of goodies. They also have imitation bags, wallets, belts, pretty much those stuff that you can buy at divisoria. One word. HAGGLE.

And just because this bus called Go KL is so awesome, I’m gonna post a solo picture of it. We rode this from our hotel to Petaling Street. Why awesome you ask? Well because that bus, my dear friends, is free of charge! Yes free. Locals and foreigners alike need not pay this bus plus it has wi-fi <3 AWESOME right? J
Well I still have quite a few posts from our trip but this pretty much sums up our first day at Kuala Lumpur. Hope you enjoyed reading it! See you!
